Congratulations all round to the organisers, staff, and volunteers for making the event go so well, with such a smooth-running and joyful atmosphere.

Congratulations must also go to the people of Hastings who turned out in droves, despite the ominous weather conditions.

Those without tickets thronged the beach, promenade, Bottle Alley, East and West hills, and any available vantage points.

Some even took to the sea in a variety of crafts to be part of the spectacle.

The Pier boards were certainly put to the test as young and old alike were ‘ready to rumble’ to Madness and the magnificent Suggs.

Thanks to all involved for making this possible and so successful.
