There are so many breeds to choose from when considering welcoming a new furry friend into your home, so why not opt for a rescue dog?
Each of these dogs at Arundawn Dog Rescue are looking for a home – including a litter of adorable puppies, a Saluki and some Spaniels.
If you are interested in adopting one of them, visit the rescue’s website and complete a pre-application form.
All information and photos come from Arundawn.

9. Puppies - three months old
These puppies have been described by Arundawn as 'delightful and chunky'. The Labrador cross Bull Terriers are all males and the rescue said they will be the 'most amazing dogs' if the right families are found. An active and stimulating home is essential for each of these puppies. All puppies born with Arundawn leave at around 12 weeks, fully vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and with a neutering agreement in place. Photo: Arundawn

10. Gypsy - eight years old
Gypsy is a Patterdale Terrier cross who, unfortunately, lived a 'pretty hideous life' previously, having lived with two other dogs in a shed. Gypsy foster carer said she loves visitors and is 'a real people dog'. She likes to be outside if it is sunny but does feel the cold, and does not usually like to be out of bed before 8am. She loves her walks and is okay with familiar dogs, though she is fearful of other dogs and can react if they come too near. She is looking for a home as an only dog and cannot be rehomed with cats. 11. Pongo - nine years old
Pongo's foster carer said she is a 'sweet and loving girl'. She loves her humans very much and is very happy to be with other dogs too, though she can be reactive on walks sometimes. She is a loyal and loving dog but is still nervous about life. Pongo's requirements include: a quiet and calm rural home, a family or person who is at home most of the time, someone with the commitment to work on her recall and grow confidence, and another resident dog for companionship. 12. Monty - nine years old
Arundawn has said 'Monty is one of those dogs that come into rescue and just breaks our hearts'. The Rottweiler cross Dobermann had not been walked in two years, had become overweight and was terrified of the outdoors. However, after spending time in his foster home he has become 'a complete cuddlebug' and, despite his size, believes he can fit in your lap. He loves playing fetch and has lost all the excess weight he had when he first arrived so is looking very sleek and healthy. Monty is walked with a muzzle as he is still reactive to other dogs so cannot be rehomed with any other pets, and will need to be adopted by someone who is capable of walking him due to his strength on the lead. He is also still quite anxious when going outside so this will need to be worked on, and also means he would like to find a home in a very quiet and rural location. He can live with children older than 12. Photo: Arundawn
