East Preston mum launches appeal to fund 'life-changing' tribike wheelchair for her 17-year-old daughter
An appeal has been launched to fund a tribike wheelchair that will given an East Preston teenager independence and greater freedom for many years to come.
Mum Jade Greenough says a motorised wheelchair would be life changing for her daughter, 17-year-old Samantha Greenough.
She has launched a GoFundMe appeal to raise £6,000, with support from Samantha's school and her therapists.
Jade said: "Samantha is a wonderful, kind and thoughtful young woman who is facing significant challenges due to her left-handed hemiplegia (Cerebal Palsy), partial sight and learning disabilities.

"She cannot use a manual wheelchair because she lacks the strength in her left arm, which means she always needs someone to assist her with mobility. Unfortunately, the NHS cannot provide her with a motorised wheelchair due to budget limitations.
"A motorised wheelchair would be life-changing for Samantha, offering her the independence she deserves. The funds raised will go towards purchasing a custom-sized wheelchair and a tribike attachment, which will transform it into a motorised chair. This tribike is built to last, ensuring Samantha can enjoy greater freedom for many years to come.
"Her physiotherapist and occupational therapists, staff at her school and GP are advocating for her, as they all believe this is a need, not a want for Samantha.
"Charities are struggling in this climate and have closed many of their books to new applications, leaving this up to us to fund it. I wish more than anything I could do this for her but its a large chunk of money to come up with. Any help would be greatly appreciated, even a share would help."

Family friend Tania Dumbleton, who has been promoting the appeal, said: "She is an amazing young woman who won't let anything stop her but she just needs a little help to raise the funds for a tribike wheelchair."
