Vigilance urged after four burglaries in Brighton and Shoreham

Sussex Police have urged residents in Brighton and Shoreham to remain vigilant after four burglaries in the area.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “Vigilance is urged after four burglaries in Brighton and Shoreham.

“On 24, 25 and 29 October, four properties, all occupied by families of South Asian heritage, were targeted in offences where gold is believed to have been the primary target.”

Detective Inspector Duncan Lloyd said: “While we do not want to cause unnecessary alarm, by raising awareness of these incidents, extra steps can be taken to enhance security at home.

“Simple measures such as securely storing valuables, leaving a light on in the evenings, and checking doors and windows are properly locked can help reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime.”

If you witness suspicious behaviour or have anything to report to support ongoing enquiries, contact police online or by calling 101.

In an emergency, or if a crime is in progress, always dial 999.
