Eastbourne RNLI crew rescues group after power boat hits ‘underwater obstruction’

Eastbourne RNLI said it helped five people on a sports power boat after it hit an ‘underwater obstruction’.

The incident happened at around 6pm on Saturday, April 30, according to the crew.

An RNLI spokesperson said the nine-metre power boat’s engine failed after hitting the obstruction.

They added, “Once on scene volunteer lifeboat helmsman Dean Parker, along with his crew, attached a tow line and towed the casualty vessel back into the safety of Sovereign Harbour.”
