The production team was filming at Rock-a-Nore in the morning and early afternoon before taking shots on the beach at Camber Sands in the evening.
Crews were producing a trailer for Bright Films’ upcoming feature film adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, to be shot on location in Hastings and the south coast.
The core creative team all live locally, and include executive producer Justin McCarron, producer, writer and director Bindu de Stoppani, cinematographer Tim Cragg, art director Cathy McKinnon, sound recordist Steven Cole, editor Wojciech Duzmal and local young actors Raffiella Chapman and Paddy Ostle.
Raffiella recently starred in the John Lewis Christmas advert for 2021.
Bindu said: “Yesterday, we shot a trailer for a feature film of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, which we are hoping to make later in the year.
“The aim of this trailer, is to create a visual window, into the bigger idea, in order to raise the funds to shoot the full feature film locally, generating work for the incredible local talent that lives and thrives in Hastings, St Leonards and Rye.
“Everyone involved in the shoot is local and lives locally. Some of our younger talent had never done film before and we were passionate about giving this next generation of film-makers and actors this opportunity.”
