Lewes Labour leader leaves party
The leader of Lewes District Council’s Labour group has left his party.
On Monday (October 19), Lewes district councillors were informed Peacehaven East councillor Chris Collier, then leader of the authority’s Labour group, had become an independent.
He has been replaced as Labour group leader by Christine Robinson, who is deputy leader of Lewes District Council.
The LDRS has approached Cllr Collier for a comment on his decision, but he did not respond to us with a reply by time of publication.
