Mid Sussex pubs announce plans to show England’s next World Cup match
Residents in the Mid Sussex district are getting ready for England’s next World Cup match.
Our team face-off against Argentina tonight (Wednesday, July 15) with the kick-off set for 8pm.
So we’ve had a look at the Facebook profiles of pubs in the area to see who’s announced that they’re showing the game this evening.
The Star in The Broadway, Haywards Heath, announced on Monday, July 13, that it is ‘officially sold out for England vs Argentina’.

The pub’s post said: “A huge thank you to everyone who booked with us. The response has been incredible, and we can’t wait to welcome you for what promises to be an unforgettable atmosphere.
“No more bookings. No walk-ins available. If you’ve got a booking, make sure you arrive in good time, soak up the pre-match atmosphere, and enjoy our live music from 6pm before kick-off.”
The Fox and Hounds in Fox Hill, Haywards Heath, said in a Tuesday, July 14, Facebook post: “We think that England is going to beat Argentina.
“Our players are clean. None of them are Messi. Not only do we have great jokes – we have air con! Book your table now for the match tomorrow.”

The Bolney Stage in Bolney Village is also inviting people to ‘watch the game with us’.
A sign outside the pub, which was posted to the pub’s Facebook profile, said: “Football is better with friends (and even better down the pub). We’ll have two big screens and loads of seats under our stretch tent. If you fancy a bite to eat before kick off you can book a table in the usual way.”
The Sportsman Pub in Hassocks said it is showing the game at 8pm and has ‘two small screens (but plenty of room)’. Visit thesportsmanpub.com.
Eight Bells Bolney said on Facebook on Wednesday: “It’s Semi-Final Day! Come and join us tonight at The Eight Bells, Bolney as we cheer England on in their World Cup semi-final against Argentina.
“Whether you fancy soaking up the atmosphere in the bar or watching the action out on the decking, we’ve got you covered.
“Why not tuck into something from our delicious Football Menu, served between 6pm and 8.45pm? Pulled Pork Loaded Fries, Mexican Bean Burger, Loaded Nachos, Chicken Wings. To name a few! Great food, cold drinks, a brilliant atmosphere, and hopefully another unforgettable England performance.
“Come on England! It’s only one step away from the final.”
