Steyning footpath to be closed for six months during construction works

West Sussex County Council has made an order for the temporary closure of a public footpath in Steyning.

The effect of the order will be to prohibit any person from proceeding along a length of Public Footpath No. 2585, from its junction with Abbey Road eastwards for a distance of 296m to its junction with track (518324.991, 111699.626).

The council said the order is necessary due to construction works. "Unfortunately there is no alternative route available using the Public Rights of Way network."

The order will come into effect on January 11 and last for six months.
