A large tree has toppled into an ancient South Downs churchyard following Storm Henk.

The tree fell into the grounds of St Mary’s Church in Storrington today (Wednesday). It is believed it became dislodged during yesterday’s high winds.

The tree also demolished part of a wall edging St Mary's Church in Storrington. Photo: Lawrence SmithThe tree also demolished part of a wall edging St Mary's Church in Storrington. Photo: Lawrence Smith

The tree also demolished part of a wall at the church site and blocked a footpath from Church Street to The Glebe and access to the church from the rectory.
