M25 closure near Heathrow rescheduled due to bad weather as drivers face overnight diversion
Motorists travelling on the M25 are being warned of an overnight closure at junction 15 after planned work near Heathrow Airport was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
The anticlockwise carriageway will now close between the M4 slip roads from 8pm on Saturday, October 31, until 10am on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
The work had originally been scheduled for the weekend of October 24 and 25 but was rescheduled because of the forecast weather conditions.
During the closure, anticlockwise traffic will be required to leave the M25 at junction 15 and follow a signed diversion route via the M4.
Drivers will need to travel westbound on the M4 to junction 5 at Langley Interchange, turn around and head eastbound before rejoining the M25 anticlockwise at M4 junction 4b.
The M25 clockwise carriageway and all links between the M25 and M4 will remain open throughout the works.
Motorists are being advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys, with residual delays expected on the M25 on Sunday even after the closure has been lifted.
The busiest period around the M25/M4 interchange is expected to be between 8am and midday on Sunday.

Where possible, drivers are encouraged to travel earlier or later in the day, consider alternative routes or use public transport to avoid severe delays. Passengers travelling to Heathrow Airport could consider the Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line.
Further work will also take place during weekday nights, with closures scheduled between 10pm and 6am. During these closures, a diversion will be in place via M4 junction 4 and back.
Motorists are urged to check their routes before setting off and follow the signed diversions while the work is under way.
