A vehicle fire broke out on a road near Cowfold.

Police said emergency services were called to the A272 in Cowfold at around 5.40pm on Monday, April 11, to reports of a vehicle on fire.

Officers said they closed the road while the fire service worked on the scene – although the road reopened at 6.51pm.

No injuries were reported from the incident, according to police.

A Sussex Roads Police spokesperson said West Sussex Highways also attended the incident.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for more information.
