'Trigger the purchase' - Brighton star to leave this summer for '£25m'
All the latest transfer news and gossip for Brighton and Hove Albion and across the Premier League
Brighton star Brajan Gruda looks set to leave the club this summer.
The German playmaker joined the Seagulls for around £25m in 2024 but struggled to establish himself in the Premier League.
He joined RB Leipzig on loan for the second half of last season and teamed up with them once again this term.
Gruda, 22, has now scored five goals and claimed five assists for Leipzig and the Bundesliga club are now reportedly keen to make the move permanent.
The loan deal that was agreed last summer is said to have included a £25m option to buy clause.
Leipzig are keen to trigger that option and Brighton will likely be willing to negotiate for the German club.
Leipzig believe in Gruda
German sports reporter Ekrem Konkur posted: "RB Leipzig are reportedly planning to trigger the purchase option for Brajan Gruda, who is currently on loan at the club.
"The German side are prepared to activate the €25 million clause included in the agreement.
"Leipzig believe strongly in the 22-year-old attacker's potential and want to make the move permanent. Gruda looks set to LEAVE Brighton."
Gruda showed glimpses of his potential during his time at Brighton but a combination niggling injuries and inconsistent form hindered his progress.
He scored four goals with eight assists from 45 outings for Brighton.
Gruda is contracted with the Seagulls until 2028.
