Crawley Town face Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers in their first home pre-season friendly this afternoon (Saturday, July 9).

Fresh from their warm-weather training camp in Murcia, Spain, the Reds will be playing for the first time in front of their home fans under new manager Kevin Betsy.

Stadium name change confirmed

It’s not just transfer news annnouced by Crawley Town today.

The club confirmed this morning that the stadium, formaly known as The People’s Pension Stadium, will be temporarily returned to its original name of the Broadfield Stadium.

Reds confirm new signing

Before kick-off today, Crawley have confirmed the signing of promising centre-back Tobi Omole from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

The 22-year-old signs on a two-year deal after playing in North London amongst both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur’s youth ranks, recording 51 appearances in the Premier League 2 for their U23 teams.

Speaking to the club website, he said: “I am here to achieve promotion, I am a ball-playing centre-back and am excited to be a part of this new project at Crawley Town.”

Crawley confirmed the defender will not be taking part in today’s pre-season friendly against QPR but will start training with the group next week.

The team news is in, with new boys Dion Conroy, James Balagizi, Travis Johnson and Dominic Telford all starting.
