‘Given a tough time’ .. ‘couldn’t continue momentum': Crawley Town player ratings from loss at Salford City
Crawley Town’s winless run in League Two continued as they fell to a 2-1 defeat away to league leaders Salford City.
Macaulay Langstaff opened the scoring with a volleyed effort from close range following a Kallum Cesay cross. It was an utterly dominant performance from the Ammies who looked fully in control of proceedings.
The home side doubled their advantage when Langstaff produced with a composed finish into the bottom right corner from just inside the box.

Dylan Morgan gave the Reds a lifeline with a left-footed finish with just over half an hour to play. Crawley suddenly came to life and looked in with a shot of getting something out of the game but they were unable to find the equaliser.
Crawley Town player ratings:
Vito Mannone: 6.5
Was forced into making a few saves in the first half but all of which he would be expected to save. Made an outstanding save with 15 minutes to play to deny Langstaff a hat-trick.
Charlie Barker: 5.5
Drove into space from the backline efficiently but sometimes there weren't enough options ahead of him to make good use of it.
Priestley Farquharson: 5
Forced off with an injury in the second half but not much to say other than that on the centre-back.
Stephen Duke-McKenna: 6
Pressed well at times and did get the better of Odoh on a couple of occasions but didn’t have much attacking joy other than that.
Lewis Richards: 5.5
The left back was given a tough time up against Molyneux and defensively he was outnumbered with Cesay influential down that side too. Going forward however he provided a decent level of threat with some great attacking runs but they were few and far between as Crawley soaked up a lot of pressure from the home side.
Gianmarco Di Biase: 4.5
Unfortunately couldn’t continue his momentum from Saturday’s substitute performance. A tough game for Di Biase, a lack of service and relatively few touches.
Jude Arthurs: 5.5
The captain really came alive in the second half as Crawley started to dominate larger spells of the game. Started zipping passes around the pitch and driving the Reds forward.
Ade Adeyemo: 5
Didn’t get a lot of joy down the flanks when playing at full back but when he was moved into more of an attacking position he made a lot more of an impact.
Dylan Morgan: 6.5
Crawley’s most inspirational player during the game. His lovely left footed finish halved the deficit for the Reds.
Nathan Tinsdale: 5.5
Some good movement and intelligent runs at times from the Hull City loanee but the Reds weren’t able to get the attacking midfielder on the ball enough.
Kai Jennings: 5
The midfielder picked up on second balls well and drove the Reds forward at times, operating slightly higher than Arthurs.
Substitutes:
Pele Arganese-McDermott: 5.5
Looked a bit shaky at times but recovered well when he needed to.
Kellan Gordon: 6
Was able to whip in a few dangerous crosses into the box but nothing which was capitalised on by the Reds.
Osman Kamara: 6.5
The Blackburn Rovers loanee was a very bright spark and caused all sorts of problems down Salford’s right hand side.
Louie Watson: N/A
Jonny Russell: N/A
