Fontwell Park jumps action: Preview and tips for Friday’s six-race meeting

There’s racing at Fontwell Park on Friday (Nov 6), where we have two races over fences and four over hurdles.

Read on for a preview of and tips for the Fontwell card, brought to you by BOYLE Sports, who have all the horse racing odds.

We open with a two and a quarter mile maiden hurdle (12.50). Baddy Wood is a newcomer here and the market will indicate how his abilities are perceived, while Jamie Snowden’s Smokehouse brings the best form, having won a point-to-point and been placed in a tight finish in a bumper. With the yard going so well, he must be a player. Max d’Airy could get involved too.

Next is a two and a half mile handicap chase (13.25). Sea Warrior appeared to benefit from his summer wind surgery as he won by an impressive 12 lengths at this track last time out. Slightly back up in trip here, he can compete again. Sanitiser must be watched out for, though, while Ahanaglogh is best watched for now but is entitled to improve this season.

The third race is a handicap hurdle run over three miles and two furlongs (14.00). Both I Love You Sivola and Mild Magic won their latest starts and are the main two here, the latter with less weight to carry. Stamina Chope wasn’t too far behind Mild Magic in his race, though, and she could factor now.

Race four is a handicap hurdle run over two miles and three furlongs (14.35). Lynx De Thaix was unbeaten in France last year and is exciting now, while Donnie Azoff is a consistent sort who can get involved at this mark. Paso Doble is a course and distance winner who looks nicely handicapped now, and is given five pounds by his rider.

Second to last is a handicap chase run over three miles and two furlongs (15.10). Hard Stare should go well, having been beaten just a length on reappearance last time at Plumpton, and is on the same mark today. Steal The Moves might also be a factor, but might prefer softer ground.

Lastly we have a two and a quarter mile novices’ handicap hurdle (15.43). Mystical Mabel likes this distance and looks nicely placed in the weights this time, while Ephyra could get back to her better form this term. Winston’s Oath is probably favourite for a reason, though, and could be ready to pounce.
