The village scooped four awards and a trophy at this year’s South & South East in Bloom Awards held at RHS Wisley last month.

Representatives from the village attended where they scooped Silver Gilts for Best Town (which is based on population rather than whether an entry is from a town or village), Best Small Park, Best Kept Churchyard and ‘Gardening with Young People’ for the involvement of pupils from Ingfield Manor in the Chapel Corner garden project.

All four entries reflected teamwork by council staff, contractors and volunteers.

The village also took the Town of the Year 2026 as it received the highest score in its section.

On the 7 October, Billingshurst gardeners were presented with a bumper crop of certificates at the local Billingshurst in Bloom Awards, recognizing effort by residents, businesses and groups who collectively make the parish look attractive and cared for.

Attendees were treated to refreshments and cakes with certificates presented by Chairman of the Parish Council Cllr. Paul Berry, who commented “presenting these certificates is one of the nicer things you get to do as Chairman during the year!”

Certificates of Appreciation were also given to groups who had supported the parish's various South & South East in Bloom entries.
