Friends of St Mary’s Churchyard, Whyke offer Remembrance tour

As part of the events around Remembrance this year, the Friends will be offering a Remembrance Tour of Whyke churchyard. The tour will focus on the lives of those who died in the two World Wars and in other wars, and who are honoured in the ancient and still-functioning churchyard.
They include those people commemorated by Commonwealth War Graves. The tour will take place on Monday 9 November at 11 a.m., and will last one hour. There will be no charge.
The tour is based on historical research done by the Friends of St Mary's Churchyard. Information about the Friends and their research is available on their website, www.whykeburials.com
Whyke Churchyard is located behind the ancient St Mary’s Church, on Whyke Road at the junction with Kingsham Avenue. Parking is available on the streets off Kingsham Avenue.
