Leading commercial law firm Schofield Sweeney has advised on the sale of recycling and waste management company Haulaway, to founder-led Evergrowth Group.

Founded by the Holloway family in 1991 with just two skip lorries, Haulaway has grown steadily over 35 years into a waste and recycling business serving customers throughout East Sussex and the wider South East.
Today, Haulaway provides a full range of waste management and transport services, including skip hire, roll-on roll-off containers, tipper and grab hire, plant hire, bulk haulage and trade waste collections. The business supports a broad customer base across the construction, commercial and domestic sectors.
The business, which joins EverGrowth’s Environmental Services division, has built its reputation on providing a reliable and responsive service, supported by an experienced workforce, established infrastructure and long-standing relationships with customers and suppliers.
Schofield Sweeney acted for shareholders Colin and Julie Holloway in the transaction, advising and managing the demerger of Haulaway’s two businesses and the sale of the Hailsham business to EverGrowth. Colin and Julie will remain with the business to oversee a smooth transition and retain ownership of the Polegate waste management facility.
EverGrowth Group, is a UK-based, founder-led total facilities management platform, established in 2025 by Chris West and Ferdie Ahmed, that acquires and scales B2B essential services businesses. Instead of folding acquired companies into a single corporate brand, EverGrowth retains each business's original name, staff, management, and customer relationships.
Colin Holloway, Managing Director at Haulaway, said: “Haulaway has been a family business since 1991, and over that time we have built strong and lasting relationships with our customers, suppliers and employees. EverGrowth took the time to understand our business, how we operate and what has made Haulaway successful. Julie and I are pleased to be joining the group and believe this provides a strong platform for the business to continue developing while maintaining the service and relationships our customers have come to expect.”
Chris West, Co-Founder and Chief Executive, EverGrowth, said “I grew up around my family’s waste business, so I know how much graft goes into running a yard like this. Colin and Julie run a tight, proper business that Hailsham relies on. That kind of discipline is what we want to build on across the group.”
A multi-disciplinary team from Schofield Sweeney worked on the transaction led by Partner Michael Cantwell and supported by Associate Jack Venable and solicitor Victoria Boothby from the corporate team, and Jessica Townend and Tim Richards from the property team. Schofield Sweeney worked closely with Affinia, who provided full deal advisory support throughout the transaction.
Jack Venable said: “It was great to work with Colin and Julie on the demerger and the sale of the Hailsham business to EverGrowth. We wish them all the best as they work with Chris and his team and going forward with the Polegate facility.”
