The race began at Greenwich Park and finished on The Mall. Runners crossed the line after passing Buckingham Palace. The largely flat course, featuring a total elevation gain of 246 feet, showcased some of London’s most famous landmarks, including Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, and Big Ben.

Conditions on the day were close to ideal for distance running. Participants set off in cool temperatures of around 12ºC, which gradually rose to 16ºC by midday and reached between 18–20ºC for the majority of finishers.
