A care home in Angmering is inviting the local community to a free dementia advice session.

Care UK’s Ayton House, on Dappers Lane, will be shining a light on the condition on Thursday 29th October from 2pm–4pm.
The ‘Adjusting to a Dementia Diagnosis’ session will see specialist Barbara Stephens offer guidance on how to live positively with dementia, while making emotional and practical adjustments.
Attendees will be given resources to help them navigate a diagnosis and debunk any negative stereotypes or misconceptions about dementia. Guests are also encouraged to stay after the talk is complete to share their thoughts, ask questions and start honest conversations about their experiences in a safe space.
Joel Ignacio, Home Manager at Ayton House, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this event and warmly invite the local community to join us. By coming together, we can help build a more dementia-friendly Angmering.
“Understanding dementia is so important in fostering stronger connections and more positive routines for those living with the condition as well as the people who care for them.
“For many people, a loved one’s diagnosis can be a challenging and emotional time. With Barbara’s support, we hope to share advice and answer queries about living with dementia and provide a safe, welcoming space where people can ask questions and have open conversations.”
