How The Body Shop customers can grab a free goodie bag this week – to mark 50 years of the iconic Sussex-based firm
To mark 50 years of The Body Shop – which was started by Littlehampton’s own Dame Anita Roddick – the company is holding a global retail celebration.
This Friday (March 27), The Body Shop stores nationwide, including those in Worthing, Chichester, Crawley and Brighton, will be offering goodie bags worth £45 to the first 50 shoppers of the day.
A spokesman for the firm said: “This year marks a major milestone as The Body Shop celebrates its 50th anniversary, honouring five decades as an iconic British high street brand known for challenging industry norms and reshaping beauty culture.
“In addition (to the goodie bag), customers can enjoy a range of in-store experiences, including complimentary engraving on selected products and celebratory cupcakes. There will also be exclusive gifts with purchase including limited edition baseball caps, one-time-only hand charms, and more.”

The Body Shop, a stalwart of British high streets for the last 50 years, opened its first store in Brighton in 1976.
Founded by the late, Dame Anita Roddick, the little green shop went on to become a global phenomenon, scaling to over 1,900 stores, in 75 countries. The Body Shop pioneered a new approach to selling cosmetic products that was totally at odds with the norms of the industry, putting ethics and sustainability at the heart of its products.
The iconic pagoda-style former home of The Body Shop in Littlehampton was demolished last year, after the company moved its central operation to Brighton.
Many residents were saddened by the loss of such an iconic building
