West Sussex garden centre launches Santa’s grotto for charity

A West Sussex garden centre has shared its programme of Christmas events – and it includes a Santa’s Grotto.

Haskins Roundstone Garden Centre, in Angmering, is getting into the festive spirit with a packed schedule of events, including charity quiz and bingo nights, food and drink tastings, and a Christmas grotto.

On Thursday, November 12, the centre hosts a charity quiz night, followed by a charity bingo night on Friday, November 13.

Santa will pay a special visit, with a Charity Christmas Grotto on Thursday 10, Friday 11, Thursday 17, and Friday 18 December. Families can meet Santa, share their Christmas wishes, and enjoy a magical festive experience, all while helping to raise money for Haskins Roundstone’s charity of the year, Momentum Children’s Charity.

Nick Joad, general manager at Haskins Roundstone, said, “We’re looking forward to welcoming families and friends to celebrate Christmas at Haskins, whether they’re getting a team together for our quiz night or bringing the children to meet Santa. It’s the perfect opportunity to soak up the festive atmosphere and make a little extra magic of your Christmas shopping trip.

“Our festive programme is also a chance to support our charity of the year, Momentum Children’s Charity, and the work it does for children facing cancer or a life-challenging condition and their families. The charity contributes so much to our community and Christmas is the perfect time to give something back. We’d like to encourage all our customers to join us in raising funds for such an important cause during the most wonderful time of the year.”

The centre also hosts a tasting with jam and chutney maker, Cottage Delight, on Friday, November 27, and a tasting with wine and spirits producer, Lyme Bay, on Saturday, November 28.

The Salvation Army hosts a special drive-in carol service in the overflow car park at Haskins Roundstone from 5.30pm on Sunday, December 13, encouraging visitors to sing along to festive classics played by the Salvation Army Band.

Haskins is also bringing back its popular late-night openings, with the Roundstone centre open until 8pm on Thursdays and Fridays until December 18. During those evenings, the restaurant serves food and drink until 7.15pm.

Momentum Children’s Charity supports families across South West London, Surrey, and Sussex whose children face cancer or a life-challenging condition. The charity provides support tailored to each family’s needs, staying alongside them for as long as they need it.
