Eastbourne and Hailsham gift shops close as company goes into 'voluntary liquidation'
An independent retailer, with shops in Eastbourne and Hailsham, has gone into liquidation.
Maybugs, a family-owned firm, had gift shops in Terminus Road, Eastbourne, and Vicarage Field, Hailsham.

The greeting card and gift shops closed earlier this month, with the company ceasing trading on March 2.
Its website and social media pages have also gone offline.

The retail group was owned and run by Greg Rose and John Dale since 2018.
Insolvency and restructuring firm Crowe UK has been appointed following the retailer's closure.
A statement from Crowe said: “On March 2, 2026, Maybugs Limited ceased trading.
"Steven Edwards and Mark Holborow of Crowe UK have been engaged to assist the board of directors in placing Maybugs Limited into creditors’ voluntary liquidation.”
The retailer also operated stores in Bexhill and Tunbridge Wells.
Its Hailsham branch opened in 2018, and its Eastbourne shop opened in 2021.
The company won Independent Gift Retailer of the Year at The Greats awards in 2022.
Maybugs was also nominated in the High Street Hero category at The Small Awards run by Small Business Britain in 2023.
