New padel club and bar set to open in Shoreham

Club Padel, at Fishermans Wharf in Brighton Road, will feature six indoor courts, changing rooms, a shop and a bar/cafe overlooking the courts.

The purpose-built club is expected to open in ‘early 2027’, with construction well underway.

Club Padel will offer bookable sessions seven days a week, in addition to coaching, social sessions, and tournaments.

Owner Alan McGuinness said the aim is to create a ‘community’, rather than just a place for people to play sport.

He said: “We’re so excited to be bringing Club Padel to Shoreham.

“We’re now well into the construction phase and, with groundworks almost behind us, we should soon see the structure going up, which will be very exciting!

“Our aim has always been to create much more than somewhere you simply turn up, play for an hour and leave. We want to build a genuine community around the club and create a place where people from all walks of life come to play, socialise and spend time.

“Padel is an incredibly accessible sport, so the club will cater for everyone from people picking up a racket for the first time through to experienced players."

Club Padel will operate on a pay-and-play basis, which means anyone can book a court without becoming a member. Membership options will also be available, and the club is currently inviting people to register their interest ahead of its opening.

Mr McGuinness said he hopes to work closely with local businesses, community groups and schools to deliver a space for locals to ‘come together and enjoy each other’s company in a fun social space’.

He added: “The sport is growing incredibly quickly across the UK and we think Shoreham is a fantastic location for a club like this.

“We can’t wait to welcome people in.”
