“Two further e-scooters have been seized in recent days after officers witnessed them being ridden dangerously on public roads.

“The first rider had been repeatedly travelling up and down Hammonds Drive, near the police station, in an anti-social and dangerous manner, sounding their horn in an apparent attempt to attract police attention.

“Unfortunately for the rider, they had already attracted the attention of our officers, who had witnessed the scooter being ridden dangerously, and it wasn't long before they caught up with the rider and seized the scooter.

“A few hours later, while still out on patrol across the town, officers saw a second e-scooter being ridden dangerously through The Hydneye, narrowly missing a double-decker bus and creating a significant risk to other road users.

“Officers swiftly caught up with the rider, safely bringing them to a stop before seizing the scooter.

“These latest seizures form part of our ongoing work under Operation Scramble, targeting the illegal and anti-social use of e-scooters and e-bikes, including tackling dangerous riding and driving on our roads.
