Everyone is welcome to this informal meal of home made soup, cheeses, fresh bread and tea/coffee.

A chance to meet in a friendly atmosphere - no charge just a donation to this week’s charity which is Macmillan Nurses.

Saturday 3 March Spring craft fair in the Memorial Hall 10.00am - 2.30 pm.

All tables are booked and there is plenty of parking on the recreation ground.

It’s in aid of Memorial Hall funds.

Sunday 4 March Parish Eucharist 10.30 All Saints

Queen’s Head Live Music 4-6 the Band of Two a Dynamic Duo perform.

The road through Three Oaks, a well used route to Hastings, is closed at Three Oaks because the railway bridge is being repaired.

The road at Doleham Halt is also closed.

The loss of the Total petrol station on Winchelsea Road, Rye means the loss of a main road petrol available between the Ridge, Hastings and Brenzett.

In recent years four petrol stations have gone on this route.

Icklesham’s garage faced the old Post Office and the site is now houses.

Before it was a garage Icklesham’s Chapel stood there.

When I looked into the history of the Chapel some years ago I was saddened that nobody knew the date of the last service in that dignified building.

The garage at the top of Guestling Hill still exists but does not serve fuel.

As Danny, a friendly member of staff in Winchelsea shops will tell you, it was one of the last garages where customers were personally served with fuel.

The other 2 Sites are now occupied by Winchelsea Lodge and the Tollgate flats on the corner to Rye Harbour.

Pubs have disappeared in Guestling and Winchelsea and village shops have gone in Guestling and Three Oaks.

Shops have survived and been revived with local initiative helping both Icklesham and Winchelsea.

The Quiz Night last Saturday had another full Memorial Hall with 15 teams helping to raise £386 for the Cricket Club.

The Club thanks every body who supported the evening. Stuart Baker thanks Charlotte,Adam, Jo,Kevin, Danniella,Mark, Scott and Sean for all their help.

The top 4 teams were Nobby’s Nuts, Stalybridge Celtic, One Out All Out and the 30 Something.

The next quiz and it’s already almost fully booked is on 17 March and is in aid of the Stoolball Club.
