All proceeds will go to the Uckfield and Heathfield branch of Macmillan Nurses.

She said: 'My friend Sheila Howden is a local fundraiser for Macmillan Nurses and our firm has a long tradition of supporting Macmillan cancer charities. It is an unusual location, but as always there will be a warm welcome for everyone.'

Wendy joined R Jarvis in 1996 after a busy career in industry, aviation and the licensing trade. With her wide experience in dealing with people, she is keen to break the taboo on funeral premises by inviting the public to come in, have a look and support the cause.

She said: 'As well as supporting an excellent charity, we want to show people that we are a friendly and helpful team.'

Books from 50p will be on offer and all donations, both cash and books, will be gratefully received.
