I am a regular user of the A259 road between Eastbourne and Seaford at varying times of the day.

Now that the temporary lights at Exceat Bridge have been in operation for some time, it seems to me that the traffic flow is vastly improved from the previous “give way” operation as the traffic knows that vehicles will speedily cross the bridge in rotation.

Instead of spending costly sums on alterations and improvements at the bridge, would it not be a far better idea to install permanent traffic lights (possibly set up to be traffic operated to cater for the regular flows of traffic in either direction), and to spend the money instead on improving the growing number of potholes which are causing extreme danger to all road users, including those on two wheels, and pedestrians?
