I was honoured to meet Nancy at Blind Veterans UK in Rustington.

In her weekly column for Sussex World, Alison Griffiths – MP for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton – writes about her local work over the last few weeks.

My work, representing you, is divided between Westminster and the constituency of Bognor Regis and Littlehampton (and surrounding villages) that I am proud to serve.

Spending as much time as I can here is so important to me. Hearing about and understanding the work and contributions made locally enables me to best represent our area in Parliament.

I am lucky to represent such a dynamic and diverse area that is doing so many wonderful things.

My recent work has included attending the naming ceremony of Littlehampton RNLI’s new D-Class Lifeboat ‘Spirit of Fidelity’ and dropping into Bognor Regis Rugby Club to wish them well for their 60th Birthday.

Littlehampton Bonfire Society ensure that every year we have a display and procession that brings the community together. I was honoured to be a judge for the procession and walking groups. Well done to Tara’s Scooter Group for bagging the prize for best dressed walking group!

My visit to Blind Veterans UK in Rustington was a truly humbling experience and the stories I was privileged to hear were deeply moving.

Other visits have included Richard Pearce Hairdressing in Aldwick, visiting the Littlehampton Banking Hub, starting the ‘Freaky Felpham’ Treasure Hunt and meeting the senior leadership and governors at Bersted Green Primary School.

And of course, I’m not oblivious to our challenges. I continue to work with Bognor Regis Town Council, Arun District Council, the BID, Sussex Police, local businesses, and community groups as part of the Bognor Regis Town Centre Action Group to reduce anti-social behaviour and crime in the area.

These are just some of events and meetings I have recently attended as your local MP. I have a regular email newsletter that outlines my local and Westminster work. You can register to receive it at alisongriffiths.org.uk/newsletter

If I can support you, email me at: [email protected] or write to: Alison Griffiths MP, House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA.
