Staff from Sussex Independent Financial Advisers Ltd. Chartered Financial Planners and Accountants, ventured forth from their offices in Hailsham to tackle the ongoing littering issue plaguing the beach at Holywell in Eastbourne. On the beach clean on Wednesday March 9, they filled five bags of rubbish, and then stopped for coffee at the Holywell Tea Chalet. The accountancy firm is associated with Plastic Free Eastbourne. Residents at Mortain Place Care Home in Eastbourne marked International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8 by spending the day celebrating trail-blazing women throughout history. Residents discussed the role of the many women who have shaped history from Cleopatra and Boudica to Florence Nightingale and Marie Curie. SUS-220316-092434001

The arrival of spring has been marked by a bumper display of daffodils at Michelham Priory House and Gardens in Upper Dicker near Hailsham. More than 80,000 of the flowers in 18 varieties are bursting into bloom throughout the heritage site’s grounds.
