East Sussex College Eastbourne students studying Level 3 Travel and Tourism spent two days at JARE Airline Training Centre in Bournemouth completing their Cabin Crew SEP training at the start of March. Students completed activities in which they achieved a certificate. This was part of their Unit 14 Investigating Cabin Crew. The programme included an emergency evacuation slide, a smoke-filled cabin, donning a smoke hood, pre-flight PA and demo, and a galley fire. SUS-220322-125436001

Orbit Homes has recycled more than 200 tonnes of unused wood from its construction sites, including The Hedgerows development in Hellingly, after partnering with sustainable social enterprise, Community Wood Recycling. SUS-220322-130123001

On Sunday March 20, nearly 200 people turned up at Wannock Village Hall for a fundraising afternoon tea and cake event in support of the people of Ukraine. More than £1,800 was raised, and more events for Ukraine are being planned. SUS-220323-113054001

The Friends of Eastbourne Hospital held their first fundraiser of the year at the Spice Garden on Wednesday March 16. The evening, which had been postponed from its original date in January due to Covid-19 concerns, was superbly supported, raising a total of £794 for the DGH in ticket sales and raffle.
