Veterans rewarded for long-standing marshalling role at Worthing Rotary Carnival

Veterans' long-standing support for Worthing Rotary Carnival has been recognised with the presentation of a cheque.

Worthing Veterans Association was one of the chosen charities this year and a donation of £1,500 has been handed over.

Mark Carlisle, chairman, said: “We are extremely grateful to Worthing Rotary for choosing us as one of their charities and for this generous donation.

“I would especially like to thank all our members and volunteers who have given up their time over the years as road marshals and running our awareness stand. Their continued support was one of the reasons we were selected to receive this funding.

“This money will make a real difference to the work we do supporting local veterans. We would like to thank everyone who supported the carnival and helped raise the funds.”

He also thanked Rocket Marketing founder Melanie Peters for the help she has given the association.

Mark said: “Special thanks also go to Melanie Peters for putting us forward and for all the work she has done supporting the association over the past 18 months.”

The carnival was also raising money for Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance.
