Southwater plans for 23 new homes recommended for approval
Plans to build 23 homes north of Southwater are to be considered by Horsham District Council.
The application from Star Build Ltd, for land to the rear of The Copse, in Worthing Road, will be discussed during a meeting of the planning committee on Tuesday, November 3.

If approved, the development will be accessed from Worthing Road and made up of 14 detached and semi-detached houses to be sold on the open market, plus eight semi-detached and terraced houses and one flat which will be classed as affordable.
A report from planning officers recommends the application for approval.
A statement submitted with the plans said the development would deliver ‘sustainable, well-designed homes that respond to local context, provide community and ecological benefits, and align with planning objectives for housing, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability’.
The application will be the first to be considered by the planning committee after changes to the regulations come into force on October 31.
It met the criteria to be put to the committee because it doesn’t comply with the development plan, more than eight people contacted the council raising concerns that went against the recommendation, and requests were made by Southwater Parish Council and ward councillor Claire Vickers.
