FA Cup second qualifying round: Eastbourne Borough and Horsham through - Crowborough earn Hampton replay

Two Sussex clubs are through to the third qualifying round of the FA Cup and another will be in Monday’s draw ahead of a midweek replay.

But another three exited the competition – including Chichester City, who crashed out after two late SE Dons goals turned a 2-1 lead into a 3-2 defeat to their lower-division rivals.

At Oaklands Park, Lloyd Rowlatt and Harry Bridle scored either side of half-time to give Chi a 2-1 lead after Joshua Bohui had put step five Dons ahead. It was still 2-1 with the 90 minutes up – but Ralfi Hand and Alex Teniola scored in time added on to shatter City’s dreams of another run to the first round.

Also out are Pagham, who had already come through three rounds but found Isthmian Premier side Hanworth Villa too strong, losing 6-0 at Nyetimber Lane. Nikolay Zlatev and Haydon Vaughan each scored two for Villa.

And there was also an exit for Burgess Hill Town at Hanwell Town. Jordan Esprit and Henry Snee put the London side two up before Shamir Fenelon got one back for Hill in stoppage time.

But Sussex will have three sides in Monday’s draw.

Eastbourne Borough got the job done at home to lower-league Windsor and Eton – Arthur Grout, Darren McQueen and Gold Omotayo all scored in the first half and it ended 3-0.

Horsham won by the same score at Walton and Hersham – where a goal and two assists from Charlie Hester-Cook sealed the victory and Dan Ajakaiye was also on target.

Crowborough did superbly to draw 3-3 away to Hampton and Richmond – who play two divisions higher than them.

Jasper Mather scored before and after Elliott Duncan and George Hutcheon were on target for Sean Muggeridge’s men. Duncan seemed to have won it with a 90th minute strike for the Crows but Reece Greco-Cox levelled for the Beavers.

The replay will be at Crowborough in midweek.
