Emsworth Printmakers exhibiting in Chichester

Oxmarket Contemporary

Emsworth Printmakers offer their fifth annual group exhibition at Oxmarket Contemporary in Chichester from October 27-November 8.

Now a regular feature in the Oxmarket’s autumn calendar, they are joined this year by six invited guest artists who will bring more printmaking and a variety of three-dimensional work to the exhibition.

Spokeswoman Fabiola Knowles said: “Expect to see a celebration of printmaking in its many forms, complemented by functional and decorative hand-thrown pottery and fused glass.

“Emsworth Printmakers was formed during lockdown as a means of supporting one another’s artistic endeavours when unable to attend open studio sessions. Many had previously met at the Omega Printmakers workshop in Portsmouth or as fellow Emsworth Arts Trail exhibitors. Once studios opened again the group continued to unite and is now a proactive community of artists that meet regularly to share their printmaking knowledge and to support each other on their creative and personal journeys.

“During the exhibition, print enthusiasts can expect to see a mixture of screen printing, wood engraving, lino, collagraph, etching and monoprint techniques on show, mixed with some experimental approaches to printmaking.

“Framed and unframed original artworks will be available, alongside a variety of elegant pottery and glass. One exhibiting artist will be in attendance during the entire exhibition and will be on hand to answer any questions and discuss the work on show.”

Exhibitors this year are: Sue England, Jules Roper, Marian Forster, Fabiola Knowles, Carol Price, Bea Veness, Suzie Darcel, Sam Bell, Alec Roberts, Liz Brook, Nancy Goodens and Emma Forster.

Oxmarket Contemporary will be open from 10am-4.30pm Tuesday to Saturday, 12pm-4pm Sunday and is closed on Mondays during the exhibition.
