Midhurst is set to kick off the festive season in style as its annual Christmas Street Party returns on Friday, December 4.

Organised by Midhurst Town Council, the event will run from 4pm to 8pm, bringing festive cheer to the West Sussex town with a programme of attractions for residents and visitors of all ages.

Highlights will include free funfair rides, a free Santa’s Grotto, festive stalls, food and drink, live music, carol singing and the eagerly anticipated Christmas lights switch-on.

Local shops will also be taking part with late-night shopping, giving visitors the opportunity to browse for Christmas gifts while enjoying the atmosphere of the annual celebration.

A spokesperson for Midhurst Town Council said: “After two years of windy weather forcing us to adapt, we’re keeping everything crossed for a dry and calm evening! We hope you can join us for some festive fun.”

The street party is also just the beginning of a festive weekend for Midhurst, with the town set to host its Winter and Christmas Market on Saturday, December 5, from 9am to 2pm. The market will feature indoor and outdoor stalls at The Old Library and in Market Square.
