Street art competition is 'real celebration of Worthing’s creativity'
Worthing BID is celebrating the town’s vibrant creative community with the launch of a new competition.
Inviting Streets is a project designed to showcase local artists across the town centre this summer.
"The competition was open to everyone, welcoming submissions from artists of all ages and backgrounds, with the aim of bringing locally created artwork to street crossings and lamp post banners as part of the BID’s seasonal street dressing programme,” a spokesperson for Worthing BID said.
"The response exceeded all expectations, with an incredible number of entries submitted from across the community.”

Town centre manager Hannah Manzaroli said Worthing is ‘full of talented artists’.
She added: “We really wanted to celebrate that by creating something open and inclusive for everyone. The response was amazing, we were completely inundated with entries from all walks of life, and the quality of work made it incredibly difficult to shortlist.”
Following the selection process, a shortlist of artists has now been chosen, and the final decision has been ‘handed over to the public’.
Residents and visitors are now invited to vote for their favourite design by liking their chosen entry on Worthing BID’s Facebook page. Voting is open for three weeks and will close on April 10.
The winning artist will receive a £500 prize and will see their work brought to life across Worthing, featured on street crossings and lamppost banners throughout the town centre.
Hannah added: “This is a real celebration of Worthing’s creativity. We are so proud of the talent we have here, and we can’t wait to see which design the public chooses to brighten up the town this summer.”
