In the 13th and final Sussex Grand Prix race of the 2026 season, the Crowborough 10k, six runners wore the green-and-black of Hastings Runners.

Quickest among them around the two-lap course was MV40 Simon Weatherley, placed 68th in a time of 47min 21sec. Not far behind him, Andy Lee won the MV70 age category with his time of 48:16, while MV60 Andy Knight crossed the line in 51:58.
Fastest of the three HR women was FV35 Hannah Eyre-Weeks (50:10), followed by FV60 Ruth Spiller (53:36) and FV35 Louise Weatherley (54:43).

At almost exactly the same time around 25 miles to the east, the Beckley 10k attracted 172 entries – with just over half the field coming from Hastings Runners.
The tough and hilly race was won by Louis Dargan in 33:50, while Sam Evans placed third in 35:32 and Shane Evans was also in the top 10, finishing eighth in 38:49. The club then won the women’s team prize after a very strong showing by Lucy Pollard (third female home in 48:38), Laura Torrance (fifth female, 49:18) and Sue Redstone (sixth female, 50:45).
HR also collected a plethora of age category trophies. Kevin Davis targeted and scooped the MV60 award by finishing 30th in 44:43; Christopher Anson topped the MV65 standings with 45:32; and MV75 Steve Uzzell took home his prize with a time of 66:07.
The club’s women performed well, too. Carly Elliston was the first FV35 over the line in 54:19; Michelle Fox’s 48:34 was quick enough to earn her the FV45 prize; Laura Torrance won her FV40 age cat with a new 10k Personal Best of 49:15; Sue Redstone’s 50:45 saw her top the FV55 standings; while FV65 Xiulan Han won hers in 52:04 (another PB) and FV80 Yockie Richardson’s 68:54 put the veteran runner once more in a class of her own.
