HEATHFIELD AND WALDRON RUGBY CLUB

Calling all Under 10s who would like to try rugby!!
STAR INN, WALDRON

Meet Dee (there’s a good chance you already have). A legend when it comes to knowing everyone, knowing everything, and somehow always knowing exactly what’s going on. Dee is such a big part of the Star - she knows the regulars, the locals, the stories, the gossip - and probably what you’re going to order before you’ve even sat down. Need to know something? Ask Dee. Need to find someone? Ask Dee. Want to know something you probably shouldn’t? Definitely ask Dee. She’s one of those people who quietly keeps everything ticking, and we genuinely don’t know what we’d do without her. A Star Inn institution.
ST GEORGE'S CHURCH BROAD OAK
This year is a first for St George's church, Broad Oak; we are having a Saturday morning event as well as a Sunday service to celebrate the harvest. Saturday 26th from 10am-12.30 pm Bacon 'butties' will be served, plus tea and coffee. There will be an opportunity to take part in some harvest-themed activities and have your photo taken alongside our visiting tractor that will be in our car park, bedecked with bunting for the occasion. The flower arrangements will all be in wellies, as we 'give poverty the boot'. The event is free but all donations will be gratefully received for Family Social Work ( FSW), a local charity that helps families in times of crisis. Sunday 27th at 3 pm a service of Harvest Praise, with traditional harvest hymns and readings. Everyone is welcome, as we give thanks to God for the Harvest and all the people involved in bringing food to our table. The service will be followed by lots of lovely cake and tea. And a special blessing will be said outside, where another tractor will be parked and bedecked with bunting.

CASK BEER AT HOME – LAKEDOWN BREWERY
It's Autumn; it's time for Cask Beer that you can enjoy at home... After the balmy Summer and record keg beer sales, we're coming into our favourite time of year: Autumn, which means falling leaves and raising pints of cask beer. Unlike many craft brewers, we've maintained our commitment to cask beer, which represents 50% of our brewery output. We've some absolute crackers available in can, so you can savour the beauty of 'proper beer' at home. Mini kegs are the perfect way to experience cask ale at home. As the ale conditions naturally in the keg, it develops its character and delivers a true cask experience, bringing the quality and tradition of the pub straight to your home. Currently we have Kicking Donkey Best Bitter, Sussex Pale Ale and Fire Fall our seasonal Red IPA. Check out our online shop to see the full small pack range.
HEFFLE COURT HEATHFIELD
The joy of music at our Reminiscence Memory Café “Music has a unique, almost magical ability to unlock memories and bring profound joy to people living with dementia. At our monthly Reminiscence Memory Café this month, we dedicated an entire afternoon to ‘The Joy of Music’, exploring how melodies, rhythms, and familiar songs can positively transform a person’s well-being.”
We were delighted to welcome a wonderful violinist, who filled the room with beautiful music and familiar melodies. It was lovely to see residents, families and visitors listening, reminiscing, and sharing special memories brought to life through music.
A huge thank you to Engage East Sussex TN22 Clubs - Wealden Lunch and Social Clubs for Older People for hosting such a meaningful afternoon and creating a space filled with connection, laughter, music and friendship. Our next meeting is October 14 October at 2.30 pm. Come along and join us for connection, support and friendship. We’d love to see you there! “Music is the soundtrack to our memories.”
