Mountside Care Home in Hastings is celebrating after being rated ‘Good’ in all five areas assessed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), marking a proud achievement for the whole team.

The home, on Laton Road and part of ACI Care, achieved ‘Good’ ratings for being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led, alongside its overall ‘Good’ rating.
For home manager Lisa, the result is an opportunity to recognise the people whose commitment, compassion and teamwork shape residents’ experiences every day.
Lisa said: “I am incredibly proud of our team. Achieving ‘Good’ in all five areas is a wonderful recognition of the care, effort and dedication colleagues bring to Mountside every day.
“Everyone has a part to play in making this a home where residents feel safe, valued and supported. From providing personal care and preparing meals to keeping our home welcoming and creating opportunities for residents to enjoy themselves, every contribution matters.
“What makes me particularly proud is how our colleagues support one another. That teamwork helps us respond to each resident as an individual, taking time to understand their preferences, listen to their wishes and get to know the people who matter to them.”
The CQC’s five assessment areas cover different aspects of residents’ care and experience, from safety and the effectiveness of support to how services respond to people’s needs and how the home is led.
Achieving ‘Good’ across all five gives the Mountside team a shared success to celebrate, while offering reassurance to residents, relatives and people considering care for a loved one.
The home’s approach centres on supporting people to feel comfortable, connected and involved in everyday life. Alongside personalised care, this means making space for conversation, companionship and activities that reflect residents’ interests and choices.
Lisa added: “We also want to thank our residents and their families. Their feedback, encouragement and involvement help us understand what we are doing well and where we can make things better.
“This is a success for our whole Mountside community. We will celebrate it together and keep building on the work behind it, because providing good care is an everyday commitment.”
