Horsham Park Bowls Club's Finals Weekend resulted in fine wins for some of the club’s newer bowlers.

Richard Goodchild and Harry Bailey each won two trophies in their first year of entering, and Steve Uwins won one, also in his first competition year.
The Gentlemen’s Pairs resulted in a convincing win for Richard Goodchild over Alan Setchell. Richard read the heavy green well, and dominated with long jacks that suited his style of play.

In the Ladies’ Pairs Bryony Wood was leading 10-0 when she was forced to retire hurt after a slip. Lorena Daane was therefore awarded the victory.
In the Handicap Pairs Harry Bailey shot off to a 10-0 lead after just five ends. Graham Roots fought back well after that, matching Harry point for point, until Harry scored a decisive four on the last end to take a 21-9 win.
The ‘101-up’ was a rematch between Richard Goodchild and Alan Setchell. History repeated itself with Richard maintaining his solid play and sound tactics, for a dominating 102-48 win.
Two wood pairs was a tight affair between Steve Uwins and Alan Setchell. After a low scoring start, it was all square after ten ends at 4-4. Steve scored well on the nest few ends to draw away. After a recovery from Alan, it came down to the last wood of the last end. Steve nipped in to win 10-8.
The Jackson Trophy was an exciting see-saw of a match. Harry Bailey raced away to a 8-2 lead after five ends against Farron Calver. Farron then drew level at 10-10, before Harry took control to get to 20-10.
After this came a remarkable comeback attempt, with Farron getting to 17 without reply. Harry then just scored the one he needed to take the match 21-10.
