BUXTED TOGETHER

Another brilliant morning for Buxted Together! Nine of our lovely volunteers spent several hours at St Mary’s churchyard last weekend, making the most of the autumn sunshine (and battling a bit of wind!) to give another area some much-needed TLC. And what a difference a few hours can make! Swipe through for the before and after photos – we think the results speak for themselves. A big welcome to Jane, who joined us for her first session, and a special thank you to County Councillor Christina Coleman for rolling up her sleeves and getting stuck in. You’re both welcome back any time! Thanks also to Margaret from the church for keeping everyone supplied with hot drinks, and to our youngest little helper for delivering a freshly baked chocolate cake. Hard work is always better with cake! A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time. Another little corner of Buxted looking all the better for it. Fancy joining us next time? We’re always happy to welcome new faces. No experience needed, just a willingness to muck in! Get in touch at: [email protected]
EAST SUSSEX FIRE AND RESCUE
We proudly welcomed our newest wholetime firefighters at a formal Pass Out Parade held at the Service Training Centre in Maresfield on October 23 2026. The ceremony marked the successful completion of the 43rd Wholetime Firefighter Recruit Course. We wish them every success in their firefighting careers, as they begin their service protecting local communities. We’d also like to extend a special thanks to families and friends who have helped and supported them throughout this process. Read more at: https://www.esfrs.org/east-sussex-fire-rescue-service...

UCKFIELD & AREA COMMUNITY FIRST RESPONDERS ·UCKFIELD, WE NEED YOUR VOICE! YOUR COMMUNITY. YOUR SAY. YOUR FUTURE.
What if someone you loved suffered a cardiac arrest? Would help be close enough? We’re working on something that could make a real difference to the future of emergency care in Uckfield and the surrounding communities — but we can’t do it without you! Uckfield & Area Community First Responders are developing an ambitious 5-Year Community Project, focused on improving access to lifesaving defibrillators, strengthening community resilience and helping more people feel confident to act in an emergency. Why does your attendance matter? Because the people who live, work and spend time in our community understand its needs better than anyone. We want to hear: Where do you think defibrillators are needed most? What concerns do you have about emergency help in your area? How can we better support vulnerable residents and our wider community? How can we work together to make Uckfield a safer place to live? This isn’t just about presenting our plans. It’s about listening to your experiences, ideas and priorities so that our project reflects what our community actually needs. Whether you’re a resident, business owner, community group representative or simply someone who cares about Uckfield, we’d love you to attend. Free to Attend — Please reserve your place! We need to confirm expected attendance numbers with Uckfield Town Council to finalise our venue arrangements, so please don’t leave it until the last minute to register! Email: [email protected] Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/2003310991102.Tea and coffee will be available, with a suggested £2 donation towards refreshments. You don’t need any medical knowledge. You just need to care about your community. Five years. One community. A chance to make a lasting difference.
