West Sussex Labour Group Leader Cllr Martin McCabe and Deputy Leader Cllr Henna Chowdhury have welcomed a new retirement living development in Angmering, following a visit to mark the opening of its show apartments.

The councillors joined the Town Crier at Oakleaf Place, a new development by McCarthy & Stone on Water Lane, offering 35 purpose-built retirement apartments designed to help older residents live independently while remaining connected to their local community.
The development includes one and two-bedroom apartments, communal spaces, landscaped gardens and an on-site manager, with shops, cafés and public transport links nearby.

Cllr Martin McCabe, Leader of the West Sussex Labour Group, said: "It was lovely to visit Oakleaf Place alongside Henna and our Town Crier and see what this new development has to offer.
"As people grow older, having somewhere safe, comfortable and suitable to live becomes increasingly important. Developments like this can give people more choice about how they spend their retirement, helping them maintain their independence while remaining part of their community.
"We need a range of housing options across West Sussex that reflect people's changing needs throughout their lives."
Cllr Henna Chowdhury, Deputy Leader of the West Sussex Labour Group, added: "Growing older shouldn't mean losing your independence or becoming isolated from your community.
"Having suitable accommodation, opportunities to socialise and local amenities within easy reach can make a real difference to people's quality of life.
"It was a pleasure to visit Oakleaf Place, meet those involved and welcome this addition to Angmering."
Oakleaf Place is located close to Angmering village centre and offers retirement apartments for purchase, rental and shared ownership.
