‘Another area’ of Swan Walk in Horsham reopens as roof works continue

Swan Walk in Horsham has announced that ‘another area’ of the shopping centre has reopened, giving people access to a further section of the centre for the first time since mid-July.

It comes after the reopening of the shopping centre’s Carfax Mall on Tuesday, September 1.

Swan Walk has been shut since July 13 after a roof panel fell from the building.

Nobody was injured, but the centre was closed as a precaution while investigations continued into the incident.

A select number of stores reopened on the weekend of August 1.

A proposed netting solution was then approved on August 4, which would allow the shopping centre to safely reopen.

Swan Walk confirmed the netting solution had now been delivered – and installation work had begun.

The shopping centre said the netting will be installed ‘in stages’, which would allow Swan Walk to gradually reopen

A spokesperson for Swan Walk said: “We are pleased to report that this morning (September 7) another area of Swan Walk has reopened adding access to Superdrug, F Hinds and Roman.

“This follows the reopening of the Carfax Mall and Swan Square last week and means that now 29 of our retailers have been able to reopen their doors.

“Works in the next phase are already underway, and we hope that the West Street mall to our West Street entrance will be reopen early next week.

“As we have already shared the works are being undertaken in phases and details as each area reopens will be clearly marked on signage in the centre.

“Please refer to our website https://swanwalkshopping.co.uk/ and social channels for the latest information and updated store guides.

“We are pleased with the progress of the installation works and look forward to sharing further timeline updates in due course.”
