Burgess Hill to lose major high street retailer
A long-standing high street retailer is set to close in Burgess Hill, making this the third store of its kind to close in Sussex.
TG Jones, on Church Road, is ‘expected to close’ on January 9 2027, according to the retailer.
The store changed from WH Smith on October 5th 2025 to rebrand and has launched a closing down sale.
The store has been a long standing shop in the town and the closure follows implementation of TG Jones' Court-approved Restructuring Plan.

Stores in Uckfield and Rustington have also closed in the area
A spokesperson for TG Jones said:
"As we work to secure the long-term future of TG Jones, we have confirmed that our Burgess Hill store will close. We know this will be disappointing news for our colleagues, customers, and the local community. Our focus now is on supporting those affected and continuing to serve customers throughout the closure period. We would like to thank all of our colleagues for their commitment and the contribution they have made to TG Jones."
