Eastbourne charity looking for volunteers to join tree-planting project
Eastbourne Borough Council are calling on volunteers to join its tree-planting project in a local primary school.
Treebourne, a local charity-initiative, has organised a tree nursery volunteer session to meet its goal of ‘making a carbon neutral town by 2030’.

The session will be on Saturday, October 31 between 9am and 12pm at Churchdale Allotments, Eastbourne, BN22.
A council spokesperson said: “Join Treebourne to prepare young trees for an exciting planting project at a local school.
“They’ll be: digging up trees, pruning, bundling trees ready for transport. There’s something for everyone, even if digging isn’t your thing. Drop in at any time and stay for as long as you can.
“Hot drinks and biscuits will be served at around 10.30am.
“Please share, and tag someone who might like to lend a hand!”
To access the allotments volunteers can go through the bike path where Churchdale Road meets Bridgemere Road. On-street parking is available, or people can drive along the wide bike path and enter through the main gate.
Follow the road to the small car park at the end. From there, walk back towards the gate, take the first right and follow the road until you see the organisers.
