Fundraising campaign launched to save 100-year-old Worthing landmark
A fundraising campaign has been launched to protect a Worthing landmark, with £15,000 needed to repair the leaking roof of the 100-year-old structure.
The Royal Arcade is at serious risk if the failing roof is not repaired, according to the GoFundMe page, Save the Royal Arcade Worthing.
Owners say: "It is more than a building, it’s a living piece of our town’s history, over 100 years old and full of character.
"Sadly, its roof is now failing, allowing rainwater inside and putting the building at serious risk.

"We’re raising funds for urgent roof repairs to protect The Royal Arcade, preserve local heritage, and support the independent businesses that call it home.
"Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps safeguard the future of The Royal Arcade. Please support the campaign and share if you can before irreversible damage is done."
A Roaring Twenties style party has been held in July 2025 to celebrate 100 years of The Royal Arcade in Worthing, a shopping mall on the site of a hotel once visited by Queen Adelaide, the widow of King William IV.
The shopping arcade has timeless charm, a true gem in the heart of Worthing.
