Worthing post office branch to be restored a year after it was closed
A Worthing post office is returning a year after the branch was closed due to the resignation of the postmaster.
The Goring-by-Sea Post Office, in Goring Road, Goring, was closed on March 10, 2025, and the premises was withdrawn for Post Office use.
Permission to change the use of that premises into a hot food takeaway and pizza shop was granted by Worthing Borough Council in December.
The Post Office has now announced that Goring-by-Sea Post Office will be restored next month, moving to Londis at 319-321 Goring Road, Goring.

The move will restore the service at a new location and it will be open daily, with 104 hours of Post Office service per week.
A spokesperson said "We are keen to restore service as soon as possible and the relocated branch will open inside the Londis store on Wednesday, March 25, at 1pm.
"Customers will be able to do everyday banking, send mail, home shopping returns and bill payments.
"The opening hours for Goring-by-Sea Post Office will be Monday to Saturday, 7am to 10pm, Sunday 8am to 10pm. This will provide 104 hours of service per week for the convenience of customers."

The opportunity to give feedback will close on February 24. Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 074908.
Submissions can also be made via email to [email protected], by post to Freepost YOUR COMMENTS, or by telephone 03452 66 01 15 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.
The new branch is approximately 90 metres from the previous branch, on the opposite side of the road, and roadside parking is available outside the premises.
Services available will include everyday personal and business banking, cash withdrawals, cash deposits, cheque deposits, drop and go mail, post and go mail, pay bills and top up.
There will not, however, be travel money, passport check and send, vehicle tax, or on demand travel insurance service available.
