The closures will be in force between 10am and 12.15pm on Sunday, November 8, and again between 10am and 12.15pm on Wednesday, November 11.

The first closure will coincide with Remembrance Sunday, when residents will gather at 10.45am at the War Memorial outside St Mary Magdalene and St Denys Church.

The service will include the sounding of the Last Post and the laying of wreaths, followed by a service inside the church.

A further Act of Remembrance will take place at 11am on Armistice Day, November 11, when veterans and uniformed organisations will gather at the memorial.

Residents and business owners who normally park their vehicles in the middle of the road along Church Hill and Red Lion Street are being asked to ensure they are moved before 10am on both dates.

The town council has confirmed that emergency vehicles will be provided with access as necessary.
